you have been warned

I met up with JuLee today. She came back to celebrate the festive season with her family.

HapPy =D haPpY =D

I love catching up with friends from that foreign land I once called home. More so with those who were residing in other cities. JuLee's from Leeds, me's from Newcastle. Last week I caught up with Paul who, incidentally, is from Leeds too. It's always a treat to meet up with them because I don't see them often enough. We usually only get together during C+ Conferences where I'd have to travel ALL the way down to the midlands coz Newc's ALL the way UP, UP north and truthfully, no one wants to chug ALL the way up here unless they're heading to Edinburgh and decide to bersinggah at Newc.

*sigh*

Anyway, JuLee and I went to grab lunch and then a movie. Suffice to say, I lost my way around One Utama, the new wing, again. I'm still not familiar with the surroundings. Kept losing my bearings and we backtracked a whole lot just looking for the restaurant.

*shy*

JuLee was able to coax me into looking at the directory and we managed to spot the place without further delay >.<
This is my turf, okay! I'm supposed to know my way around even with blindfolds on.
FAIL!!

We finally made it to the restaurant, sat down, ordered, ate and updated each other.

Fast Forward

We missed the last screening of Happy Feet =(
I thought it was showing at 3:45pm but apparently I thought wrong. Well, not 'apparently' since I memang was wrong. So, we decided to watch Lord Of The Rings Eragon instead because I heard from a reliable source (who's not so reliable anymore >_<) that the movie received good reviews.
Double FAIL!!

I swear I was transported back in time! It was Lord Of The Rings all over again! The title alone was a warning, blinking brightly signalling me to KEEP AWAY but alas, I succumbed to the influence of a certain 'reliable source'. I don't want to watch another rendition of a B-grade LOTR! There can only be one LOTR movie genre and it rightly belongs to LOTR. 'Nuff said.

Review(my kind) below.

LOTR/Eragon

Setting; mountains, valleys, rivers, forests, waterfalls and vast blue skies: check

Kampung boy to save humanity: check

His short-lived mentor: check

Princess love interest: check

Elvish: check

Fire-breathing dragons (LOTR dragons = evil, Eragon dragons = good): check

Mysterious guy lurking in corners, tailing boy then rescues boy: check

Good king turned evil: check

Whose kuncu is an extremely ugly and despicable sorcerer: check

Evil king's castle: check

Housing throngs of icky-looking creatures with unpronounceable names: check

Different breed of good guys; allies: check

And their home/castle: check

Where the final showdown took place: check

Their weapon of choice, bow&arrow: check check

Evil king's 21743985 armies: check

Good triumphs over evil: check

A sequel??: check, check, check!!

BAH!

The only difference is that the dragon has more takes here.

My recommendation?
Don't waste your money on this unless you really want to and have to relive your LOTR days. And even then, trust me, you will be sorely disappointed.

slurred

French music has a strange calming effect on me. The lyrics could be about a painful, heart-breaking affair or a nasty vent for all I know (or don't). What I do know is that every time I listen to it, I'll ultimately feel relaxed, peaceful and warm on the inside.

Sigh...

I presume that is why French is dubbed the 'language of love'.

As for the bachelor/bachelorette party, I'll post the entry up as soon as everyone submits their pictures/videos for editing, okay?

Au revoir...

Happy Holidays Loverlies!

Fact #4:
I am extremely easy to please. Just get me a tub of ice-cream, preferably good ol' vanilla flavoured Häagen-Dazs or Ben & Jerry's, in whatever flavour. Thankyouverymuch =D
