life's too short for regrets

“We were never lovers, and we never will be, now. I do not regret that, however. I regret the conversations we never had, the time we did not spend together.
I regret that I never told him that he made me happy, when I was in his company.
The world was the better for his being in it.
These things alone do I now regret: things left unsaid.
And he is gone, and I am old.”

Neil Gaiman

Abstinence

Lent is upon us.

Have not observed Lent before although I tell myself yearly that I should (but I keep forgetting!) because I know it would be good for me.

As a Christian, it is not imposed on us. However, most choose to do so.
Things become easier, more likeable or more bearable when we choose to do something instead of it being forced upon us.

I digress.

Back to Lent.

So this time I'm making a conscious effort to keep to it (because I remembered!).
Was just thinking about what I should give up during the 40 days and it came to me.
This, the very thing I'm typing on- my iPad.

Every night when I come home from work, I will surely reach for it and go into cyberspace, depriving myself of rest and sleep. It has consumed me so much so that I've stopped reading when I used to every night. I've also stopped spending time with my parents because I bring this along with me everywhere I go in the house- like now.

Therefore, I will abstain from using my iPad from tomorrow onwards during work nights. As for weekends and holidays, my cut-off time is 8pm.

Now let's see what I will fill my time with.
Should be good.
